What’s the buzz at Annunciation & Mount Olivet
(Scroll down for a complete list of what’s happening in our parishes) HELP US MAKE OUR AUGUST GIVING GOAL Staying connected in this time of pandemic presents your church with unique operating costs, in addition to the upkeep of our building and usual overhead. Please give as you are able. An automatically recurring weekly gift through your bank account or credit/debit card gives you one less thing to remember, and helps keep our cash flow stable. REV. DUANE IS BACK THIS SUNDAY WITH COMBINED SERVICE Going forward, the 10am Sunday service will be a combined service hosted by Mount Olivet and Annunciation. For the next couple of weeks, we will continue with online only services. The combined Vestries are meeting together this Sunday, August 30 to discuss in-person worship possibilities. GREEN LIGHT FOR PARENT EDUCATIONAL CO-OP AT MT. OLIVET The Diocese has given the greenlight for Mount Olivet to proceed with a Parent Educational Co-op in the Parish Hall. The Co-op is a ministry of Mount Olivet that will welcome 12 families and 14 children into the Parish Hall on school days that the International School of Louisiana (Algiers Point) is hosting remote learning. The children will work on their remote assignments together with supervision from parent volunteers. This will enable parents to have a much needed break or return to work. During this time, the Parish Hall cannot be used by any other groups, including church members. Please do not enter the Parish Hall, even after hours or on the weekends, as we need to maintain a clean environment. SUPPORT THE HURRICANE RELIEF FUND Episcopal Development and Relief has a Hurricane Relief Fund to help vulnerable communities devastated by Hurricane Laura and other Gulf Coast storms. Your gift will provide their partners on the ground with critical supplies, such as food and water, pastoral care and other urgent needs. You’ll also help assist with the long-term efforts needed to rebuild and heal. Go to support.episcopalrelief.org/hurricane-relief to donate or learn more.
