NEED A BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER (BCP)?
We are getting back to basics to this fall by turning to our Book of Common Prayer instead of using customized bulletins. If you do not own a current edition of the prayer book, let us know and we will get you one. And don’t worry, you can still find everything you need to follow the service on the WORSHIP page of the Annunciation website. You can also bookmark www.bcponline.org/, buy the Electronic Common Prayer app for your smartphone or tablet, or purchase your own hard copy or ebook edition from your preferred bookseller.
Email or text Rev. Duane for the Zoom password. It is the same for every meeting at both churches. Or SIGN UP FOR WEEKLY EMAIL NEWS TO GET LINKS FOR 1-CLICK ACCESS TO ZOOM MEETINGS
Minister to the Homeless - Volunteers Needed
The Broadmoor Improvement Association is seeking volunteers to help with tent set-up and distributing bagged lunches, toiletries, and other resources to individuals experiencing homelessness in the area, through the Program of Hope Ministry, in partnership with First Presbyterian Church. The program operates Wednesdays, starting November 4th, from 10am-11:30am. Volunteers must be able to adhere to CDC COVID-19 safety guidelines and be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Please contact Bethanie Mangigian, BIA Wellness Director, for more information.
If you are looking for non-partisan, research-driven information on ballot issues, Annunciation’s Senior Warden Marcie Courtney recommends The Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana (PAR), an independent source of information on state and local government issues.
Play with Fire! Be an acolyte!
Jackson Nettles, Annunciation’s senior acolyte, will provide training for acolytes. This is open to children at both churches ages 4 and up. For the wee ones, we have the children's cross. Older kids will carry the large cross and torches. Email Jackson to sign up.
More than ever, we need beauty in our lives! Sponsor the Sunday Altar Flowers by signing up with Suzanne Fontan at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can donate $40 towards the flowers or arrange them yourself.
