Our partners

We serve our community in partnership with a variety of organizations.

At Annunciation, we recognize that God is working throughout our beautiful city. We don't need to replicate what is already being done well. Rather, we seek partnerships with those who are passionate about their purpose.

Child Development Program (CDP)

Child Development Program (CDP) began in the mid-1970s as a small, Mommy and Me program. Today, we are a kindergarten-ready preschool and infant nursery in uptown New Orleans, serving families with various childcare needs.

As the needs of families has changed, so have our programs. We offer convenient schedule options to accommodate all types of family situations. Full-time, part-time, full-day, and half-day options are available for every age and every stage of development.

At CDP, we truly strive to be a school community and  extended family for our students. Teachers and staff get to know each child as an individual and each family unit on a personal basis. Community gatherings and family-friendly events are encouraged throughout the year so that friendships and a lifelong  sense of belonging is developed alongside the cognitive, emotional, and creative development of our students.

Gladewaves believes that all people have the right to food, shelter, education, companionship, and the tools necessary to insure a productive life. Gladewaves was formed to give direct aid to people who  need it.  "Boots on the ground" is our mantra.  Our highly skilled staff and Board of Directors are hands-on in every aspect of our non-profit. Together we work to bring resources to the Greater New Orleans area that are both useful and needed.  Every member of our staff is well versed in every aspect of our programming and this makes us stronger as a team and smarter as an organization.  Our commitment is to continue working to develop programs that will have a direct impact on improving the lives of the people in our community.

Annunciation partners with Gladewaves through our Little Free Pantry and the annual Thanksgiving Day Community Meal.

Sustaining Our Urban Landscape (SOUL)

SOUL (Sustaining Our Urban Landscape) is driving a resilient and environmentally equitable New Orleans by reforesting our urban landscape.
WHAT MAKES SOUL UNIQUE?
  • We plant trees to serve as natural systems and infrastructure. We plant in clusters to better stave off flooding, reduce pollution, improve community health, and provide beauty and shade.
  • We plant trees together with community members who drive the reforestation of their own community or neighborhood. SOUL trains block captains to canvass their neighborhoods and collect permits from homeowners.
  • We oversee the planting of every tree and help ensure its successful growth. We provide tree guards for every tree to protect against weed-eater damage, the number one killer of trees.
  • We map every tree we plant so that we can keep track of its progress.
  • We also provide maintenance guidelines to every home/business that receives trees, and are always available to answer questions.

EnergyWise Alliance

Learn more at www.energyla.org.

While we serve all Louisianans, we focus on underserved communities, providing residential energy retrofits for tenants, low income families, homes with poor solar potential, and people with moderate-to-low credit scores.  Through DIY workshops, presentations to community groups, and building retrofits at schools, churches and nonprofits, we are transforming the energy profile of Louisiana.

Our board, staff and volunteers have decades of experience in weatherization, alternative energy, education and nonprofit management.

We believe in strong corporate governance and transparency to the public to which were are accountable. To that end, our financial and governance filings are available upon request.

Alliance for Affordable Energy (AAE)

Since 1985, AAE has been working to ensure fair, affordable, and environmentally responsible energy policy for ALL Louisiana energy consumers. We are Louisiana's only non-profit group working to protect consumer rights at the Louisiana Public Service Commission, and New Orleans City Council. Most states have organizations like ours that are supported by state allocated funds. We do not receive any funding from the city or state, and rely on our members, corporate sponsors, and foundations to keep our "lights on." We appreciate all support and we look forward to at least another 30 years of making sure your energy is economically and environmentally sustainable.
