Adult Christian Ed on Tuesday
Adult Christian Ed will begin again on Tuesday, February 24. Dinner is from 5:45p-6:45p with study to follow until 8p. During Lent, we will study three things: (1) What it means to be a Christian; (2) What it means to be an Episcopalian/Anglican; (3) What it means to be a member of Annunciation. This week we will study an overview of Anglicanism and the Episcopal Church. ________________________________ Feast Day of the Annunciation Our parish feast day will be celebrated on Sunday, March 22. Bishop Jim Brown, retired bishop of our diocese, will preach that Sunday. A luncheon will follow in Vail Hall. Please see Maureen Young or Robin Yeager to sign up to bring a dish and help with clean up. Bishop Brown will also bless the rectory. ________________________________ Volunteer Ministry Update This week, we were notified at Rotary Club of New Orleans will donate up to $6,000 towards Together by Design’s trip in May. Together by Design is a group of students in the trades and engineering students from Newfoundland, Canada. They have come down for the past eight years. Our architect, Peter Waring, was instrumental in securing this donation from Rotary. A big thank you to him and Rotary! As of today, we will host 462 volunteers from January 01 through July 31, 2015. Our goal is 520. The ministry is off to a great 10th year! A big thank you to Robin Yeager, Robert Perry, Noel Prentiss, Chef Earl Fontan, and Elliott Williams for their hard work to get us to this point. ________________________________ Parish Work Day The next Parish Work Day is scheduled for Saturday, March 28 from 10am - 2pm. Lunch will be served. ________________________________ Nursery Workers Needed We are looking to hire two people to regularly work in the nursery on Sundays. If you know of someone who may be qualified, please let Fr. Duane know. ________________________________ Children’s Christian Education Coord. We are looking to hire Children’s Christian Education Coordinator to lead Sunday School for a our children, ages 6-12. If you know of someone who may be qualified, please let Fr. Duane know. ________________________________ Vestry Meeting held on 03/01/15 The Vestry met on March 01, 2015.
